Bikini girl hits out in 'peeping Toms' scandal.

A FORMER model has spoken of her horror at realising she was being filmed undressing after a boozy Ministry of Defence party by peeping toms. Pretty Danielle Murphy, 29, was covering up her bikini top and changing into jeans after the all-male Caribbean-theme party when she saw a voyeur video camera pointing at her. She had been hired to waitress at the d.o. where 250 army workers were celebrating the end of Green Goddess training in the run-up to the firemen's strike.

Danielle and waitress pal Claire Smith later found a voyeur video of themselves getting undressed at Faslane nuclear base.

The case is now set to go to court after an MoD investigation into allegations that two "peeping Tom" naval ratings rigged up the voyeur recording equipment. Make-up artist Danielle said last night: "I'm quite a tough cookie but this has affected me. The thought of being filmed naked has left me feeling dirty and disgusted. "The treatment I received by the Navy that night was unbelievable. It's a shoc ing indictment of the armed forces if a women does not feel safe at an MoD base."

The girls were hired by upmarket events company Millennium Promotions to transform the mess at the Helensburgh base into a tropical paradise, and were told to dress in skimpy beachwear. The stunning brunette said: "We were told to change in the committee room and that would be a private area. "Our shift ended at midnight and we were getting changed back into our jeans when we spotted a tiny voyeur camera no bigger than a mobile phone. It wasn't until I picked the camera up that we found it had been balanced on a pair of pliers positioned towards the corner where we were undressing."

When the girls spotted a red light on the camera, they said they knew they were being videotaped by peeping toms. "My blood ran cold," said Danielle, "and we both began to think the worst. We snatched the video tape out of the machine and Claire put it in her bag.

"I felt sick. What if the voyeur video had been beamed to the hall or what if there were other copies being made?"

Danielle called on their male MoD chaperone for an explanation.

"We were left in the committee room for 45 minutes and scared rigid," she said. "It was after 1am and no-one was around. All the guys had a lot to drink and we heard lots of shouting and glasses being broken. "I was petrified, so I called the police."

The female police officer took the tape and Danielle says they watched in horror as they saw how the bungling "peeping Toms" had accidentally taped themselves discussing how best to capture the girls undressing. Then both girls were filmed as they stripped out of beach wear into civvies. As the brawl in the mess escalated, the MoD police were eventually called to the scene and told the girls to lock themselves in the room. But to Danielle's horror, as soon as the police left the room, someone tried to break in.

She added: "There was a banging on the door which got louder. Which ever peeping tom it was would not identify themselves and tried to push the door and break in.

"I was screaming and admit that I was hysterical. I have never felt so scared. It was like a scene from a thriller. I was right at the heart of one of Britain's most important military bases yet I have never felt so threatened." Finally the police returned and, after taking a statement, escorted the women off the base at 4am.

A spokesman for the MoD police said: "We have submitted a report to the procurator fiscal and are waiting to hear what charges will be made for the peeping tom's in this voyeur case."
